New kids on the block ready for debut

Portugal's build-up for their much-anticipated debut at the IRB Rugby World Cup comes to a head on Sunday when they meet Scotland in the second Pool C match at Stade Geoffroy Guichard.

The largely amateur side has continuously said it doesn't want any special treatment as it makes its debut in rugby's biggest event at the stadium, nicknamed 'le Chaudron' (the cauldron), and will get no favours from the experienced Scotland line-up.

The two teams have played only once before, during the European qualification process for the Rugby World Cup 1999, when Scotland beat Portugal 85-11 at Murrayfield stadium in Edinburgh.

Portugal has played two international warm-up games ahead of the world cup. The first was in Ottawa against Canada, which Portugal lost 42-12. The second match was against Japan in Treviso, Italy, where Portugal were beaten 15-13. in RWC 2007

Não são os new kids on the block. Saibam eles que, os notáveis atletas portugueses que hoje jogarão contra a Escócia, conhecem-se por Lobos. Força rapazes!!
